The Savannah scene has produced so many great bands you'd be excused for thinking that sludge is in the water there, but there's no excuse for overlooking BLACK TUSK. Comparisons of Taste The Sin to bands BLACK TUSK considers brothers only tell part of the tale; the band's sophomore release and first for Relapse Records rips into you with locomotive riffing and powerful percussion, creating a furious display that incorporates the fury of punk and the precision of thrash metal within a familiar Southern-fried landscape. If Taste the Sin is wrong, you won't want to be right!

Lily ★★★★★

The bass tones on this pressing are incredibly thick and defined, exactly what you want for this kind of heavy sludge. Side A grooves hard from the first track, and the vinyl itself is dead quiet between songs. Definitely worth grabbing if you're into that Savannah sound.

Christopher ★★★★★

The splatter vinyl looks even better in person than in the listing photos—the pink and violet swirls really pop under a lamp. Side B’s sludge-heavy riff hits hard on my turntable, and the pressing is dead quiet between tracks.

Edward ★★★★★

Side A kicks off with such a raw, punchy guitar tone that I had to check my speakers weren't blown. The pink/violet/white splatter vinyl itself is gorgeous and plays dead quiet, no surface noise at all. Really captures that heavy, swampy Savannah sludge sound better than I expected.
