Some Disenchanted Evening (Transparent Green Vinyl) - Main image
$22.75 $35 In stock

Category: 12 Inch Vinyl Record

The third of three crucial Verlaines albums recorded in the 1980s and released by Flying Nun. Featuring some of Graeme Downes' finest compositions in the form of This Train, Whatever You Run Into (covered by Ryan Adams) and Anniversary, Some Disenchanted Evening represents a contrast to predecessor Bird Dog. The stripped back production yields an intimacy which has endeared the album to Verlaines fans since its release in 1990. Never before reissued. Limited and exclusive to Record Store Day 2025 on Seaweed Green Transparent vinyl.

Ellie U. ★★★★★

The transparent green vinyl looks fantastic spinning on the turntable, and "This Train" sounds remarkably crisp for an 80s recording. My only minor wish is that the liner notes included more of Graeme Downes' lyrics.

Violet M. ★★★★★

The vinyl is crystal clear and plays with minimal surface noise, which made the intricate guitar work on "This Train" really pop. The packaging feels sturdy and the lyric insert adds a nice touch.

Jacob K. ★★★★★

The transparent green vinyl looks stunning as it spins, and the sound quality really brings out the layered guitars on "This Train." Such a crucial album from the Flying Nun era, glad to finally own it on wax.
