Category: 12 Inch Vinyl Record

The follow up to 2013's critically lauded Cerulean Salt, Ivy Tripp drifts confidently from it's predecessor and displays a more informed and powerful recognition of where Crutchfield currently finds herself. The previous themes of loss of youth and coming of age have been replaced with self-control and sheer honesty. Recorded and engineered by Kyle Gilbride of Wherever Audio at Crutchfield's home on New York's Long Island - with drums recorded in the gym of a local elementary school - Ivy Tripp presents a more developed and grown up version of Waxahatchee.

The way this album drifts between its quiet, guitar-led moments and the fuller, more assertive tracks is exactly what the sequel to Cerulean Salt needed to be. Side A flows beautifully into side B, and the pressing captures all the low-end warmth without any crackle. This one’s been on repeat for a

The vinyl itself is a nice heavy 180-gram pressing, and the album's shift in confidence from the last one really comes through in the analog warmth. Side A flows beautifully into the more textured tracks on the flip side.
