Seventeen years after Illuminate first cast it's glow across the emo indie underground, Lydia have re entered the studio to give their landmark album a shimmering, synth laced makeover. Electronic touches warm frontman Leighton Antelman's trademark lyricism, threading dreamy yet rhythmic textures through songs that once leaned on reverb drenched guitars, while returning vocalist Mindy White rekindles the co ed spark fans remember.

The result bridges emo roots with bright indietronica, inviting longtime listeners to rediscover a favorite and first timers to hear why these gentle lullabies for the broken hearted and weary still resonate.

Edward ★★★★★

The milky clear vinyl looks stunning spinning on my turntable, and the new synth layers give "Illuminate" a fresh, almost dreamy energy without losing the original emo heart. It arrived well-packaged and sounds crisp, no surface noise at all.

Richard C. ★★★★★

I was a bit worried the synth-heavy rework would lose the original's raw emotion, but it actually breathes new life into these songs. The milky clear vinyl itself is flawless, no pops or crackles at all.

Ruby ★★★★★

The milky clear vinyl looks gorgeous spinning, and the synth-laced rework gives these old tracks a whole new shimmer without losing the original heart. I've had it on repeat for two days now, the electronic touches really elevate the quieter moments.
