Iowa is the second studio album by Slipknot. Released by Roadrunner Records on August 28, 2001, it was produced by Ross Robinson and Slipknot. The title derives from the band's home state, Iowa, which members have stated is one of their greatest sources of inspiration. With much anticipation for the album following the success of their 1999 self-titled debut, pressures on the band were high. Their relationships with each other suffered and this was later described as the darkest time of their career. It was also the first full album to feature guitarist Jim Root after only appearing on two songs from their previous album.

Charlotte ★★★★★

The clear coke bottle vinyl looks even better in person than in photos, and the pressing is dead quiet between tracks. I put it on for the first time last night and the bass on "People = Shit" hits so hard it rattled my shelf.

Ruby ★★★★★

Finally got my hands on this pressing, and the clear coke bottle vinyl is even more stunning in person. The sound quality is fantastic, really brings out the raw intensity of the album. A must-have for any fan of this era.

Claire ★★★★★

The clear coke bottle vinyl looks fantastic spinning under the needle, and the 2LP pressing gives tracks like Disasterpiece plenty of room to breathe. Side four might be my favorite stretch of any record I own.
