Akio Niitsu's first album, "I/O(i・o)" released in 1978, was produced in a homemade studio that had been converted from a storeroom in his home, and he spent three years doing everything from composition to engineering by himself, using overdubbed guitar recordings. Akio Niitsu's first analog re-release has been decided.

As a guitar multi-recording album, the idea was realized six years earlier than the album "E2-E4" released in 1984 by Manuel Göttsching, the central figure of "Ash La Tempel", but it was too early. A hidden experimental/ambient gem!

Three years of tinkering in a converted storeroom paid off—you can hear every patient choice in the grooves. The homemade production gives it a warm, intimate texture that polished studios rarely capture, and the 1978 pressing still sounds remarkably clear.

This album feels incredibly personal, you can hear the homemade studio in the rich, slightly raw analog sound. I love how much care went into every layer of composition over those three years. It’s a gem for anyone who appreciates late 70s experimental music.

I'm really impressed with the sound quality on this pressing—the homemade studio vibe gives the tracks a raw, intimate feel that you don't hear often. The packaging is simple but sturdy, and the vinyl itself arrived flat and quiet. Only minor quibble is the liner notes are sparse, but the music more
