Get Behind the Mule (Spiritual) b/w Get Behind the Mule 7"

Waits’ gospel moans on this alternate take give me chills every time I spin it—the raw emotion is almost overwhelming. The B-side is a great bonus for any collector who wants to hear a different side of this classic track.

This raw, stripped-down version hits way harder than the album cut — just Waits' voice and that haunting piano. The vinyl itself is dead quiet, which lets every moan and crackle come through perfectly. An essential pick for anyone who loves the raw side of his work.

The gospel moans on this alternate take are absolutely haunting, giving the song a raw, spiritual feel that the original doesn't quite have. My only minor gripe is that it's just one track per side, so I wish there was a bit more content for the price.
