James Mercer’s melodic touch is unmistakable here, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Morrissey-esque vocal turn on a couple tracks. The vinyl itself arrived flat and plays clean, with a nice dynamic range that really lets the arrangements breathe.

The vinyl pressing is dead quiet, letting that Morrissey-channeling track really shine through without any surface noise. This album captures their growing maturity perfectly, and the melodic hooks are even more infectious layered in here.

The album’s pressing is quiet and clean, letting Mercer’s melodic hooks really shine through on tracks like the ones with that Morrissey-esque swagger. Wish the sleeve had a lyric insert, but the sound quality alone makes it worth the spin.
