Solar-Myth Approach: Vol. 1

The vinyl is pressed beautifully, with that warm, rich analog sound you hope for from a classic Sun Ra session. Side A’s deep space jazz really comes through cleanly, even on my entry-level turntable. A solid addition for anyone digging into his discography.

Pulled this out of the sleeve and the gatefold jacket alone is worth the price of admission. The vinyl itself is pristine, dead quiet on the intro. Sun Ra’s Arkestra sounds huge and spacious on this 12-inch pressing.

The 12-inch vinyl has that warm analog crackle that Sun Ra’s cosmic jazz deserves, and the pressing is dead quiet between tracks. The standard format fits perfectly on my turntable, and the whole side flows like one long space journey.
