Morricone Segreto Songbook (1962-1973)

The gatefold sleeve is sturdy and the vinyl itself is dead quiet, letting the avant-garde arrangements breathe perfectly. I've been playing the Morricone deep cuts on repeat since it arrived.

I was blown away by the clarity of the mastering on this pressing—the way the strings and whistles separate on the title track is incredible. It's a beautiful tribute to his early genius.

The vinyl feels substantial in hand, and the track sequence flows beautifully from his experimental 60s work into the more sweeping 70s scores. Listening to this on a proper turntable, the orchestral layers really open up instead of getting muddled.
