CARRIE (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

The 45th anniversary re-master really brings out the strings and those eerie choral swells on the expanded double LP—it’s like hearing the film’s dread for the first time. The gatefold art is gorgeous, and the two discs feel substantial, though you’ll want a good player to catch every low-end nuance

The vinyl pressing is incredibly quiet, letting every delicate string section and terrifying crescendo shine through without any surface noise. The expanded tracklist on this 45th anniversary edition finally includes pieces I'd only heard in the film, which makes the whole experience feel complete.

I was blown away by the clarity of this expanded double LP—the remastered audio makes Pino Donaggio’s score feel hauntingly fresh, and the 45th anniversary packaging is a nice touch.
