The Hold Steady 的 Craig Finn 帶著《Always Been》回歸，這是他自 2022 以來的第一張個人專輯。這張專輯由 Finn 的多年好友、The War on Drugs 的主腦 Adam Granduciel 製作。專輯於 2024 在加州柏本克的 One Cue Studio 錄製完成，《Always Been》邀請了多位音樂人參與，其中包括許多 Granduciel 在 The War on Drugs 的樂團夥伴。Kathleen Edwards 和 Sam Fender 擔任客座演唱。音樂成果獨特、充滿企圖心且氣勢磅礡。《Always Been》是 Finn 的第六張個人專輯，與他與 The Hold Steady 合作的九張專輯並列。在他上一張個人作品《A Legacy of Rentals》獲得 Pitchfork、Rolling Stone、Aquarium Drunkard 等媒體的年終讚譽之後，《Always Been》成為這位多產說書人兼創作歌手令人振奮的下一步。

Timothy B. ★★★★★

I was blown away by the warmth and clarity of the vinyl pressing—Adam Granduciel’s production really shines through on tracks like the opener. The packaging is simple but sturdy, and the lyric sheet adds a nice touch for longtime fans.

Scarlett P. ★★★★★

The vinyl itself sounds incredible, especially with Adam Granduciel producing—you can really hear that War on Drugs texture in the mix. Arrived flat and well-packaged, and it's been on constant rotation since.

Christopher Z. ★★★★☆

Adam Granduciel's production really comes through on this pressing — the guitars have a nice clarity without being too sharp. The songwriting is classic Finn, maybe a little less immediate than some Hold Steady stuff. Solid pressing, just wish the lyric sheet was included.
