Godzilla: Cidade À Beira Da Batalha (Banda Sonora Original)

I put this on the turntable as soon as it arrived, and the bass on that main theme just rumbles through the room. The vinyl itself is quiet with no surface noise, which lets Hattori's tense, layered strings really shine. It’s a fantastic pressing for a score that deserves to be heard this way.

The record came wrapped tight and flat, and the gatefold sleeve feels sturdy enough to survive a few moves. Hattori’s choral swells and percussive hits really open up on vinyl, giving the whole Kaiju battle a weight I didn’t get from streaming.

The sound quality on this 12-inch pressing is fantastic, and the orchestral pieces really fill the room. I've been a fan of Takayuki Hattori's work for years, and this soundtrack captures the film's epic atmosphere perfectly.
