In 1976, the seminal lineup of Motörhead was solidified a year after the band's initial inception. The "three amigos" era of Motörhead; Lemmy (bass/vocals), Fast Eddie Clarke (guitar) and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums), joined forces and began their extraordinary journey to the top of the hard rock elite. In August of that year, the band set up at Emerson, Lake & Palmer's legendary Manticore Studio in Fulham to rehearse and showcase their new lineup. Now, 49 years after recording there for the first time, the long-lost tape has been discovered, dusted off and restored in all it's raw glory to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary. Deluxe Bookpack includes expanded 2 LP set on clear vinyl, bonus 7" single, and 24-page booklet.

Violet ★★★★★

Wasn't expecting the bookpack binding to feel this sturdy for a double LP set. The expanded liner notes are a nice deep dive into that 1976 era. Definitely worth grabbing if you're a fan of the classic lineup.

Hannah M. ★★★★★

The 7" single tucked in alongside the two LPs is a nice bonus, and the whole bookpack layout makes flipping through the liner notes feel like a proper archive dive. Lemmy's bass cuts through clean on the remastered tracks, even on my old turntable.

Steven T. ★★★★☆

The bookpack packaging feels sturdy and the 7" single is a nice bonus, but I wish the liner notes had a bit more detail about those early recording sessions. The sound quality on this expanded edition is noticeably fuller than my old copy.
