The third studio album from the Portland, OR-based Alt-Metal band. On Whales And Leeches, Red Fang worked with producer Chris Funk and mixer Vance Powell, the very same team helmed Red Fang's last album, Murder the Mountains, which Alternative Press magazine hailed as 'a near-masterpiece of tangled tar pit riffs and whisky-and-bong-hit vocals.'

Eva Z. ★★★★★

Cranked this on my turntable after dinner and the mixing by Vance Powell really lets the guitar tones breathe—that low-end rumble on the B-side is monstrous. Pressing quality is solid too, no surface noise between tracks. Worth grabbing if you're into the heavier side of alt-metal.

Scarlett ★★★★★

Been spinning this constantly since it arrived and the low end on tracks like the opener just rattles the whole room. Chris Funk and Vance Powell clearly knew what they were doing behind the board. Easily my favorite pickup this year.

Riley ★★★★★

The vinyl itself is dead quiet between tracks, which matters a lot on the slower, sludgier cuts here. Chris Funk and Vance Powell kept the low end thick without burying the vocals, and it sounds noticeably better than my digital copy.
