Century Spring

I’ve been spinning this record nonstop since it arrived—the way Jennings weaves those witty vocal inflections into the folk/pop arrangements on side two is pure magic. The vinyl itself is quiet and flat, letting the acoustic guitar really breathe.

The opening track alone justifies the purchase, but the whole record carries that folk/pop energy Ray Davies fans will recognize. My turntable's been on repeat for two days straight, and the vinyl's surface is dead quiet between songs.

The way his witty vocal inflections twist a simple line on songs like "Some Sailors" really sets this album apart from his earlier work. The vinyl pressing captures that warm, intimate folk sound perfectly.
