Return to the 36 Chambers (RSD23)

The two picture discs are a gorgeous collector's piece—the imagery pressed right into the vinyl makes it feel like an art object as much as a record. I've spun both LPs multiple times and the packaging itself is sturdy enough to survive a few careless grabs from the shelf.

The sound quality is surprisingly solid for a picture disc, which I was worried about. The tracklist flows nicely across the two LPs, and the artwork looks sharp. Just wish the sleeve had a bit more protection to prevent scuffs.

The sound is decent for a picture disc, though I can hear a little surface noise that you don't get with standard black vinyl. That said, the double LP actually looks stunning with the imagery pressed right in. Happy to finally own this on wax.
