Morricone Segreto Songbook (1962-1973)

I was blown away by the clarity of the mastering on this pressing—the way the strings and whistles separate on the title track is incredible. It's a beautiful tribute to his early genius.

The vinyl feels substantial in hand, and the track sequence flows beautifully from his experimental 60s work into the more sweeping 70s scores. Listening to this on a proper turntable, the orchestral layers really open up instead of getting muddled.

The pressing is clean and quiet, which lets the avant-garde arrangements really breathe. I just wish the liner notes included more details about the recording sessions—still, a solid collection of his early work.
