Wavvves

Nathan Williams’ lo-fi energy really shines through on this pressing; the bass crackles perfectly on side B. It’s exactly the raw, blown-out sound I was hoping for from a bedroom rock record.

The blown-out production is exactly what I hoped for—it’s raw and messy in all the right ways, like the tape’s about to snap. Side A’s pop hooks cut through the fuzz perfectly on my turntable, and the crackle just adds to the charm.

After listening to this on streaming, I was curious how the blown-out production would translate to vinyl — and it actually gives the lo-fi sound a warmth I didn't expect. The track sequence flows well, though one or two songs could use a bit more clarity. Solid pressing for fans of bedroom rock.
