Petey USA's new album The Yips, produced by Chris Walla the creative force of Death Cab for Cutie, delves into the concept of "the yips" - a loss of confidence that hinders peak performance. Set in a fictional dive bar, The Yips Tavern, the album paints scenes of patrons reclaiming their lives through shared struggles. Each song captures a conversation happening at tables in the bar, reflecting how this yips phenomenon affects everyday life.

Emma K. ★★★★★

The production on this album is so crisp, I can hear every nuance Chris Walla brought to the mix. The way the vinyl captures the raw emotion of the title track about performance anxiety is spot-on.

Thomas I. ★★★☆☆

The concept of losing your edge is interesting, but I feel like the songs don't quite push past that theme to land anything memorable. The vinyl itself sounds fine, though the production by Chris Walla is a bit too clean for the raw emotion the lyrics are going for.
