This double LP comes with a beautiful gatefold sleeve that really showcases the album art. The vinyl plays smoothly and the dynamic range on tracks like "The Island" is fantastic.

The gatefold sleeve is sturdy and the vinyl itself feels weighty, which is exactly what you want for a record you'll spin often. "The Crane Wife" sounds rich and warm on my turntable, with no surface noise between tracks. It's a keeper for any Decemberists fan.

Honestly, I was worried a modern pressing might sound thin, but the vinyl is really quiet and the dynamics on "The Island" come through beautifully. The jacket artwork looks gorgeous at this full 12-inch scale.
